Adjoa Adjei-Twum is Founder & CEO of Emerging Business Intelligence and Innovation (EBII) Compliance. Founded in 2018 whilst doing her Postgraduate degree in Financial Strategy at the university of oxford, Said Business School. Here, Adjoa developed a business partnership with the Oxford University Innovation. She is a Financial Crime Compliance Expert with over a decade of international experience, helping organisations meet their compliance requirements in the financial sector especially in Anti-money laundering and Economic Sanctions.
Some of the work that Adjoa has done included conducting investigations into sanctions breaches and circumvention as well as leading the Panama Papers investigations across various lines of business Barclays, working very closely with the banks executives and regulators to determine the level of exposure the bank has and any remedial action required. Currently Adjoa is the Head of Global Training and Communications for Risk Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) and the Bank’s Control framework at Barclays Bank.
Throughout her career, Adjoa actively engages with businesses globally upskilling them with a range of compliance training courses to enable them engage more effectively with financial institutions. One of her expertise is the Sub-Saharan -African and MENA region where Adjoa provides advice and training on best practices for engaging with western institutions. Adjoa recently partnered with Oxford University innovation to deliver a due diligence masterclass at the 2019 Oxford Africa Conference targeted at startups looking to pitch to investors.
As a former class rep at Oxford university, and Oxford Africa Conference Partnership Manager 2019, Adjoa has been passionate about developing high level partners interested in shaping a better Africa.
